This shampoo contains the active ingredients found in human dandruff shampoo: Coal tar and salicyclic acid. It is designed to help rebuild damages coats and skin by removing excessive oils and scaly skin with the added benefit of odor removal. Mycodex is the flea shampoo that most vets use, as it's very effective in killing adult fleas/ticks and their eggs. The active ingredient is a synthesized pyrethrin, and because it is man-made, it is safe for most spot-on flea products as well as internal flea prevention medications. Sensicare is safe for use on puppies and kittens, too. Let's hope none of us have any reason to use these products (I can't tell you how much I HATE fleas!!!!)
