The Roscoe Brass
Don Kason, trumpets: Don is a graduate of Ohio University. He had a susccessful career as a band director before forming his company, Republic Chemicals. Don also performs with Jerry Weaver's Goodtime Jazz Band, a popular local dixieland band. Don is a member of the Coshocton Community Choir, and is currently the director of the Coshocton Community Band.
Jon Mattison, trumpets: Jon is a former band director, also studying at Ohio University. He is currently an administrator in the Tri-Valley School Distict in Dresden, Ohio school system. Jon is active in the Southeastern Ohio Symphony, Zanesville Memorial Band and Coshocton Community Choir.
Joan Kason, french horn: Joan is yet another O.U. alumni. She takes care of the company while Don is on the road. She is also the chief financial officer of the Roscoe Brass, and the proud mother of two daughters and Rusty, the golden retriever. She is past president of the Coshocton Community Band, and a memebr of the Southeastern Ohio Symphony.
Paul Ring, trombone: Paul is a retired band director and principal. He is currently the town barber in Woodsfield. Paul graduated from The Ohio State University and is hyperactive in the dixieland circuit.
Steve Hildreth, tuba: Steve is currently an instrumental music teacher in Columbus, Ohio. He is an Ohio State alumni, a member of the Zanesville Memorial Band, serves as bass/baritone section leader of the Coshocton Community Choir, writes some of the brass, orchestrations for the choir, and is a staff member for the All-Ohio Youth Choir.
