This is why I (Michelle Godin.....the webmaster person) devote countless hours of time to my art:
"I am led to believe that if there is a real purpose for any of us, it is to somehow enhance each other’s humanity - to love, to touch other’s lives, to put others in touch with basic human emotion, to know that you have made even one life breathe easier because you have lived."
-Leah de Roulet
When a person is blessed with a gift as powerful as music, it is given with the hope that the artist will use their instrument as a means of tapping into a source of beauty that is identifiable with all of humanity. The ability of music to awaken hope, to beautify, and ultimately it’s ability to be used as a force of unification leaves no room for it to be viewed as a frivolity. A true artist wastes no time allowing for their craft to be viewed as such. An artist must be a beautifier in such a way that their soul will be forever known to the minds of generations of audiences. A tool such as music can be used to transfer joy, anguish, and generosity from the artist to their audience without the impurities of the spoken language tainting their tangibility. This is why music cannot be taken for granted, and why the musical experience is an integral part of the human experience. Bearing this, musicians possess a powerful gift. To be blessed with musical ability requires the artist to use their gift not as a mere supporter of their ego, but rather as the means of enlightenment that it is.
