This is the second time I am writing here, I have just bought her new
album (Yi ran ai ni) I bought It at the 9th of june. She is beautiful and her
songs are nice! I felt that she had matured and her singing skills have improved
she is so wonderful in her Latest MTV and I think she had a hard time climbing
the mountain. I hope her new album will be selling good, even better than the
old albums! And top all the music charts! Bye!

Actually, I don't music that much before I was exposed to Valen Hsu's
talented voice. I was actually influenced by my friend into buying her VCD. I
went home and view it and was deeply impressed by her. The next day I went to
Melaka (school field-trip). And it was then that I realised that I really wanted
to get back home and watch it. And thereafter I become her "die-hard" fan.

I didn't really listen to chinese songs until I came to hear Valen's
song. I felt that I have a super relax heart hearing her voice, she has a loud
and crystal clear vocal and a sweet looking face. I later bought her album, Tear
Sea. I was surprise that I nearly fell in love with her voice, I like every song
she sang and I went on to buy her old album, tao hao. That, to me is another
great album! I started to find out everything about her and now I have every
album of hers and all her VCDs, LDs and of course CDs, and I even won her Ling
Ju(neighbour) by entering a lucky draw that I bought about twenty newspaper just
for the entery! Now I am looking forward to see her again in singapore and buy
her new album on the 6th of june. Bye Bye!

Hi! My name's Guoxiang and I'm from Singapore.I've only listened to Valen's songs only recently but I felt that Valen's songs are even better than songs sang by other top singers like Faye Wong. Valen's songs are special in a way that the first time, when I've started listening to her songs,I kept listening to her songs of her latest CD again and again.I don't know why but that's why I think that her songs are special.I've been her fan just only recently,about maybe a month only but I already have 3 of her
albums and I've just got her MTV VCD volume 2.I shows the MTVs of some of her latest and best songs and even the one in which she sang with Panda.I believe that Valen would be a very sucessful singer,and I'm certain that one day she would be even more popular then Faye Wong!

The first time I really like Valen was in the winter of 1996.
Basically, I live in Vancouver, Canada. I was watching a pop show (of course it came from Taiwan, and it's on the video tapes). Her song "tear sea" was the title song. That was the first time (may be, I don't remember) I've listened to her song. Later on, I just like her, don't ask me why, because I don't know. Maybe that was because she is kinda cute, and she sings quite well.

Although I had seen her CDs in stores before, the first time I had exposure to her song was when I bought ¤WµØ's omnibus VCD "¯u¤k¤H·ªö" which I bought primarily for ³\¬üÀR. But Valen's "²\®ü" was so good I became a fan of hers too.

Since then I have bought her "½æ®yºë¿ï¥d©ÔOK¥þ°O¿ý" VCD (I don't know Mandarin Chinese so it helps to have pictures and lyrics subtitled when you first get to know a Chinese singer), and her CDs "²\®ü" "¦pªG¶³ª¾¹D" "¯ø¦¹" "¤é¥ú¾÷³õ" in this order. Currently I am looking for "°Q¦n" ("°Q¦n" and "¬Ý³z" in the VCD
was quite good), but somehow "°Q¦n" cannot be found in New York's Chinatown stores now. I have to look for it more intensely.
I was surprised with Valen's "¯d§CÂê°Í" because the feeling the lyrics convey in this Cantonese song is quite the opposite from the upbeat lyrics of the Mandarin version "¬ðµM·Q·R§A", and yet both songs manage to convey very distinct, powerful emotional qualities. I think it's a very successful conversion of a
Mandarin song into Cantonese.

Valen had a very nice voice which is crystal clear but she should try more variety of song if she does not want to be typecast as a singer who can only sing slow songs. From her newest album, we could all see that Valen had been improving in terms of her expression in singing but this album further typecast the songs that she can sing in the future as almost all the style are
the same except for "Give me a minute not to think of u","Daybreak" and "walking". (Track 6,2 and 10). She should try more variety of songs. But we could see that she is trying to be a multi-talented singer as one of the song in the album was produced by her which is a very good song.(Letting U go, Track12). Hope that she will continue improving as time goes by.
