History

1983 - Cevin Key and Nivek Ogre begin recordingSkinny Puppy material on a 4-track recorder. The result is the original"Back & Fourth" cassette.

1984 - "Remission", the first SkinnyPuppy EP, is released on NETTWERK.Wilhelm Schroeder (aka Bill Leeb) joins the band.

1985 - Skinny Puppy release their full-lengh debut,"Bites".

1986 - Schroeder leaves the band to pursue solowork and is replaced by Dwayne Goettel (formely of the band Psyche). "Mind:The Perpetual Intercourse", the second Skinny Puppy album is released.

1987 - Skinny Puppy prove that they can no longerbe dismissed as a cult phenomenon when People magazine reviews their thirdalbum, "Cleanse, Fold and Manipulate". The magazine says thatit "is like stepping into a nightmare being experienced by the Phantomof the Opera".

1988 - "Chud", a stuffed dog operatedon by Ogre during the "VIVIsectVI" tour is mistaken for a realanimal. Two plain clothed police officers demand to see the dog after aCincinnati show. Words are exchanged between the band and the officers,and Ogre, Key, and tour manager Dan McGee spend the night in jail afterbeing arrested for disorderly conduct.

1989 - "Rabies", the fifth Skinny Puppyalbum, is released. Co-produced by Ministry´s Al Jourgensen, it showcasesa harder, noisier sound than previous releases.

1990 - "Too Dark Park" is released, asis the "Twelve Inch Anthology" collection.

1991 - The question of what Skinny Puppy mightbe like had Schroeder remained with the band is answered as Key and Goettelteam up with him to release the album "Tenebrae Vision" as Cyberaktif.

1992 - The eighth Skinny Puppy album, "LastRights" is released and the group embarks on their final tour.

1995 - Having left Nettwerk,Skinny Puppy finish their long delayed ninth album, "The Process".Between completion of recording and final mixing, Ogre leaves the bandand Goettel dies of a drug overdose.

1996 - "Brap" is released on Nettwerk.Cevin Key continues on with Download, and Ogre with W.E.L.T.
