The Pup's label debut is dead on arrival, of course, since during its torturous three-year conception these industrial icons from Vancouver have feuded, fought and inevitably folded. If The Process had emerged in '94 as planned, this kinder, gentler evolution of the band's nightmare sound might have given Nine Inch Nails a run for the prog-Goth throne. Instead, it serves as a memorial that core fans will buy - if only as a point of comparison with the uncompromising Download, cEVIN Key's latest, Nettwerk-bound outfit. ***
