Symphony No.9 in E minor, Op. 95
'From the New World'
The background music you are hearing is the forth movement.
Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op.95 has a more familiar name, From the New World. It is consisted of four movements:
*1st movement: Adagio - Allegro molto
This movement has the dramatic theme melody with the dance-like oboe melody and many dance rhythms from his Czech origin, but also very expressive.
*2nd movement: Largo
This movement is so-called "going home" theme with its melancholy, nostalgic mood probably reflects the composer's yearning for his native Bohemia. The main melody played by English Horn brings out the best sound quality of it.
*3rd movement: Molto vivace
This movement represents the impression of America to Dvorak during his stay. Negro spirituals and Indian melodies are hidden inside this movement. There are rustic peasant dances which may have been based on the "Hiawatha" tales. However, this is still a mystery since some people argue that Dvorak is such genuis at composing melody that he made up this beautiful tune.
*4th movement: Allegro con fuoso
This is the last movement so you can imagine the triumph melody in the beginning. And then it goes back to the dramatic theme with full of Czech rhythm.
