GHS Colorguard

The Gilbert Marching Indian Band Color Guard consists of 22 energetic teenagers. They are choreographed by Mr. Paul Berrian, Mrs. Lorrie Turner and Mrs. Linelle Yates. The captain is Miss April Hall, a senior at Gilbert High School. We won best color guard in class AA competition at the 15th Annual Carolina Low Country Tournament of Bands. Our Color Guard has had many injuries consisting of hurt wrists and knees. Although the girls recovered and went back out on the field and ut their hearts into it, they couldn't have done it without the help and support of the other color guard members. Even with all the injuries, the Gilbert Color Guard never let down their shield, it just made them try harder. We had times when the flags would get caught in our hair and times when they would get caught in our skirts as well. Before we knew it, the season was over, but friendships made during the season will last a long time. Looking forward to winter guard! Go Gilbert! -contributed by Melissa Barefoot (8th grade color guard/ winter guard member)
