Quentin K. Sharpenstein
bass tuba

Quentin K. Sharpenstein plays Eb Tuba in the DCTQ. His background includes extensive experience in band and orchestral venues. His military band tours of duty include the United States Military Academy Band at West Point,NY. and the 202nd Army National Guard Band in Frankfort, KY. He is presently a member of the Advocate Brass Band in Danville, KY. Quentin is also a founding member and driving force behind the Derby City Brass Band. He was a founding member of the Commonwealth Brass Band located at Indiana University SE.
Orchestral experience includes appearances with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Queens(NYC) Orchestra, and the Louisville Orchestra.
Mr. Sharpenstein also has an extensive backgroud in ragtime, dixieland, and jazz. His group, The Rascals Of Ragtyme remains one of the busiest groups in the region. During the summer you’ll usually find him touring Europe with the Swedish-American Dixieland Band. Tapes of both groups are available.
