Rhimara's first reaction upon finding herself back with the Jellicles is very similar to Macavity's, something which badly upsets her family and friends. She resigns herself, though she becomes very distant and refuses to talk about her time with the Tyghurss. She takes comfort when Rhumpus returns and spends most of her time with him, which surprises everybody. He serves as a liaison between her and Macavity. It's through him that Macavity learns Rhimara is pregnant. When she is close to due Mac runs a raid on the Jellicle settlement and tries to kidnap her, but Admetus fights him and he is forced to retreat. Rhimara gives birth the next day, to a male kitten that looks a bit like Rumpelteazer, though his stripe pattern more closely resemble's Macavity's. No one seems to notice this, however. Rhumpus continues to carry messages between Rhimara and Macavity, and when she comes into season again, arranges for her to meet him in the Jellicle Junkyard. Rhimara finally decides that she doesn't want to be parted from her mate and returns with him to the Tyghurss settlement, leaving Rhumpus to explain everything to the Jellicles.
Well, if Rhumpus was a bit unpopular before, he is really in the doghouse now. Even his father, Admeetus is not speaking to him. Rhimara's kitten, Rhufus, aged about a year and 1/2, is cared for by Demeetar, who had a kitten of her own at about the same time. Rhumpus finally forsakes the Jellicles, announcing his intent to join the Tyghurss tribe. This causes a stronger reaction than he had anticipated. Munkustrap threatens to kill him if he makes such an attempt, and there are similar mutterings from other members of the tribe. Grizabella attempts to intervene in the ensuing scuffle and is struck down; Munkustrap is horrified to realize that he delivered the blow. While she is seen to, Dutironomy urges Rhumpus to wait until the next feasting to leave as he has an announcement to make. It is then that he reminds them that an execution has never occurred among the Jellicles, and what would be a better way to handle the situation. Vyktorea (the younger) now speaks up and states Rhumpus should have the right to choose his own tribe, to which several of the kittens agree. This opens a discussion and at one point Jemymah asks the very pertinent question, why are they so fearful of the Tyghurss, who have not bothered them at all since Rhimara's departure. Now Dutirnomy reveals the true reason for the age-old enmity between the two tribes. (See my Author's Notes, Other Tribes on Coricum for the explanation) He urges the Jellicles to forget their differences with the Tyghurss and allow Rhumpus to be their emmissary between them. After a great deal of discussion this is agreed to, and so the Tyghurss and Jellicles are finally reunited as friends.
I doubt very much that I will ever get around to writing all that up as a story. I am trying to get published and must spend more time on other works. But if it ever gets written, you will see it here.
Hope this helped.
