Wembley 14th May 1999

Set List

Concert Review by Linda Holmes:

This must have been the best concert out of the ones that I saw as all the band were in very good spirits (possibly because they were going home the next day).

DeadRinger was real funny as one of the roadies and the assistant tour manager came on dressed in drag at the beginning. Meat Loaf said later that it was a prank arranged by his wife as it was the end of the tour.

Kas especially seemed in a very good mood. I've noticed that since he came back from Europe he's started, during Rock'n'Roll Dreams, catching sweets in his mouth that somebody has thrown from the wings (and that's no mean feat) and tonight he was dodging backwards and forwards trying to get out of the beam of his spotlight which was funny to watch!

In the acoustic set they were joined on stage by Meat's other daughter, Amanda, and the lead singer of the support group that have been on the tour. He also sang an Irish Folk song but I couldn't catch the name of it as his microphone needed to be turned up. As he was also playing guitar during the Meat Loaf songs, Kas was talking him through the chords which was interesting to watch.

It was a really good finale to a fine tour. Thanks Meat and an especially big thanks to Kas. And the good news is that backstage we were told that the US tour starts on 15 Oct so I'd better start saving for some of the shows!

Concert Review by Michelle Mac:

Well I got paid today so I called up Wembley and got myself a ticket to see old meaty!

It was a better concert this time than the 28th March one probably cos he was feeling better he apologised for canceling when he was ill and thanked those that came back for this date. There was an area at the back that had a black curtain down where seats weren’t filled and on the flat several rows weren’t filled either.

In DeadRinger for Love when the group of girls come on , there were 2 additions to the group, rather tall ladies with dresses on. One was Pablo the assistant tour manager but I didn’t catch the name of the other guy!

They shortened paradise taking out a lot of the aggro stuff which made it better. In the acoustic set there were two extra seats, one for Amanda and one for the lead singer of the support band Picture House who sang the first verse of Honky Tonk Woman and a verse and a chorus of an Irish folk song. Also in the acoustic part they did a song called Heartbreak Tonight

This time they did an encore after bat out of hell which was All Revved Up.

Well, I had a great time – I had to make the most of tonight as who knows when he’ll be back!

Concert Review by Donna Jacobs:

Tonight's show being the last of the tour was really great and there were a few comical moments as well. When the girls (including Amanda) came out for DeadRinger there were two extra. These were Pablo the assistant tour manager in a long black dress and Chris the roadie in a long white dress. The band were totally surprised by this and were really laughing, whereupon Chris started chasing Damon on stage and tried kissing him. Meat said he suspected his wife was behind this and she was watching from the front pit.

In "Paradise" Meat started kissing Patti and somehow they both ended up on the floor, and looking at their faces you could see it wasn't planned.

In tonight's acoustic set the band were joined by Dave from Picture House and also Amanda. The set included Heartache Tonight, 1999, Honky Tonk Women and also an Irish folk song sung by Dave.

Again the show ended with All Revved Up which brought a great tour to a close.
