 A Friendly Smile

Everything's gone wrong today.
No one reacts to anything you say.
No matter how much you scream and cry,
The world seems to be passing you by.
No one seems to notice or care,
That you're trying to be heard over your despair.
                                                                                         
      But on one face a smile shines through,
     A smile that knows and cares about you.
     A smile with love to lend
     On a face you recognize as a friend.

The Little Things in Life

Too often we don't realize
What we have until it's gone
Too often we wait to late to say
"I'm sorry, I was wrong"
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
We hold dearest to our hearts
And we allow stupid things
To tear our lives apart
Far too many times we let
Unimportant things get in our mind
And by then it's usually too late
To see what made us blind
So be sure that you let people know
How much they mean to you
Take the time to say the words
Before your time is through
Be sure that you appreciate
Everything you've got
And be thankful for the little things
In life that mean a lot

        A Rainbow

I wish upon a rainbow
On every single hue,
And hope with my entire heart,
That my one wish comes true.
I wish upon its colours,
That together, shine so bright.
And if a single hue was missing,
It wouldn't look quite right.
The key to its beauty is harmony,
It's the way each colour blends.
If only the world could be a rainbow,
Then we could all be friends.
I wish we could learn a lesson,
From those beautiful bands in the sky.
Together, we could find world peace.
The least we can do is try.
