Directed by: John Glen
Produced by: Albert Broccoli
Running time: 127 minutes (2 hrs, 7 min)

Mission Date: 06-26-81
Mission Objective(s): To recover ATAC transmitter from the sunken St. Georges. Keep ATAC out of enemy hands at all costs.
Mission Status: ATAC transmitter destroyed. Discovered deal between Kristatos and Russian government for the ATAC.

PRIMARY TARGET - KRISTATOS
STATUS - Backstabbed

One sly son of a gun, Kristatos (Julian Glover) even had me fooled when he was first shown in the movie. It seemed that HE was the good guy, but in reality, he was the bad guy trying to use 007 to try and get rid of Columbo. Hardly caring for even his own men, Kristatos cares more about the end result than the method used to get there.

SECONDARY TARGET - EMILE LOCQUE
STATUS - Took a steep dive

A convicted murderer, Emile Locque (Michael Gothard) plays a major role in For Your Eyes Only. He not only kills Luigi Ferrara, Bond's contact, and the countess from the casino, but also kills many of Columbo's men at Kristatos' heroin plant. He also tries to kill 007 on a number of occasions, but 007 finally pushes him over the edge, and Locque leaves the picture.

ASSOCIATE - MELINA HAVELOCK
STATUS - Unknown(Last seen taking a swim)

After witnessing her parents death, Melina (Carole Bouquet) goes in search of the killer. Her trail interferes with the British government's plans and almost prevents Bond from getting to the bottom of this whole ordeal. She teams up with Bond involentary and becomes an important asset later on, first by helping locate the St. Georges and recovering the ATAC, and second, by going to Kristatos' hideout and evening the odds there.

    LITTLE KNOWN FACTS

  • 1. Moore says that he is reluctant to play 007 again, but returns for an unknown sum. To prevent the chance that another actor playing Bond, and to provide continuity, in the opening sequence, Bond visits the grave of his murdered wife.
  • 2. The opening sequence is a "dig" at Kevin McClory, who owns the rights of Ernst Stavro Blofeld and SPECTRE. The man in the wheelchair is obviously ment to be Blofeld...(is it the cat?)...and by eliminating him, it was producer Broccoli's way of saying the success of Bond didn't rely on SPECTRE. (I think he was right.)
  • 3. Stuntman Paolo Rigon died during the filming of the bob sleigh chase.
  • 4. Bernard Lee, "M" for the past 11 Bond movies died before filming. Instead of re-casting for the role, Broccoli, in respect for Lee, changes the script saying M is on leave.
  • 5. One of the Bond girls, Tula Cossey, was later found out to be a former male...Ouch!
