Mission Date: 12-19-97
Mission Objective: To investigate the sinking of the Devonshire supposedly by Chinese aircraft.
Mission Status: Sinking of Devonshire was manipulated by media mogul Elliot Carver in an effort to boost ratings and get brodcasting rights in China. Devonshire was just the starting point heading inevitably toward World War III.
PRIMARY TOPIC - ELLIOT CARVER
STATUS - Drilled out of the business
Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) is the world's most powerful man in media, capable to make and break people and governments with a single story. His stories are the products of his actions, and wallow in violence. His latest scheme involves the constrution of World War III manipulated from numerous corporation buildings and his stealth ship.
SECONDARY TARGET - STAMPER
STATUS - Shipped out with a large hot foot
Carver's right hand man, Stamper (Götz Otto) is an assassin in training. Taught under the former Dr. Kaufman, Stamper has learned almost everything about pain and death. Mainly, his job is to stop Bond and Wai Lin from stopping Carver's mission.
ASSOCIATE - PARIS CARVER
STATUS - Affairs are real killers, aren't they...
Elliot Carver's ex-wife, Paris (Teri Hatcher) really doesn't play that large a role in this movie. Originally planned as an information leak by 'M', due to the short-lived affair that she and Bond had, that later goes awry when she stays loyal to Elliot...at least for a while.
ASSOCIATE - WAI LIN
STATUS - Presently unknown(Last seen with Bond...of course)
A Chinese agent, running the same mission as Bond in competition, Wai (Michelle Yeoh) is a hindrance to Bond at the start, but near the end, the two team up to finish Carver and his stealth boat off. She, too, has a nice collection of gadgets from her agency. Also, she knows well the arts of karate.
