Tammy-- Tammy is an 11 year old Pokemon Trainer. She is one of the main characters. Her first Pokemon was Houndoom, who the story is about. She wants to become a Pokemon Gym leader when she gets older and her favorite color is orange because it reminds her of Fire Pokemon.
Alex-- Alex is also an 11 year old Pokemon Trainer. He is another main character. His sister, Ariele, is Tammy's new rival. Alex's favorite Pokemon is Arcanine.
Houndoom-- Duh. Houndoom is the story's main character. Although he dosn't appear around the beginning he is very effective to the story. He was Tammy's first Pokemon. She caught him at age four. Houndoom is only loyal to Tammy, since she was the one who saved him from her father. Houndoom and Tammy's father don't get along well.
Ariele-- Ariele is Alex's big sister. She is two years older than him. She is Tammy's rival. Her favorite type of Pokemon are Fire types. Her very first Pokemon was a Growlithe named Aeroi, but she had to give her up because when she evolved into an Arcanine she mated with another Arcanine and had puppies. They couldn't keep them anymore.
Duchess-- Duchess is Mr. Greenwall's Growlithe and daughter of Aeroi, the Growlithe/Arcanine Ariele owned. She befriends a Sentret named Sentret (original name!) in the woods. She is very important to the story as well.
Mr. Greenwall-- Mr. Greenwall is a grumpy hunter who lives in the woods. He dreams of having a hunting dog but was stuck with Duchess, a purebred Growlithe, daughter of Aeroi. When Duchess runs away he decides to go to the animal shelter and if they catch her to put her down.
Sentret-- Sentret is Duchess' best friend. They befriend each other in the woods. Sentret helps Duchess out of trouble many times. She is very helpful.
Mr. Callaway-- Mr. Callaway is the Head Official of the Pokemon Competition. He isn't mentioned much at the beginning but at the end he is very important. His daughter, Danielle, helps out, also.
Miera-- Miera is Danille's Growlithe, daughter of Aeroi. She helps Duchess out by running into the woods after her during the big battle between her and Tammy's Houndoom. Since they didn't finish the match they have to have a rematch. Miera is Duchess' resuer.
Danielle-- Danielle is Mr. Callaway's daughter. She bought one of Aeroi's puppies, Miera. They trained for the competition. During the big day Miera runs off into the woods for some strange reason. When Danielle finds out why when she runs after Miera, nothing in the world matters now and she needs to find help right away.
Collins-- Collins is one trainer who battles Tammy in the competition. He is a big part of the chapters with the competition because of his Pokemon I can't tell you anything more about him because that would spoil the surprise!
Jamie-- Jamie is the first person Tammy has to battle in the competition. His Umbreon is very inmportant to the story the whole story through. Although Jamie begins to lose when he battles most people, he tends to win with his last and most lucky Pokemon: Umbreon.
Gingre-- Gingre is Alex's Arcanine. He helps Houndoom out a couple times, too. But other than that he and Houndoom are "friendly rivals". When Gingre is stolen away from Alex by a band of thieves, it's up to Duchess and Houndoom to get the bad guys!
Umbreon-- Umbreon is Jamie's lucky Pokemon. She is Vaporeon's brother, Tammy's Vaporeon! This isn't good when they find out that they are brother and sister in the middle of the match! Also, she helps Houndoom out a couple times when he is attacked and on his last leg.
Jinga-- Jinga is a reliable Raichu from the meadow. He loves to help Pokemon out and he does help Duchess out a few times. He dreams of being a great healer and lover of all Pokemon. He is very important to Duchess when she is trampled by a Rapidash.
Zikey-- Zikey is a little, shy Nidoran who takes interest in Duchess the first time he sees her. He is Jinga's best friend and Duchess would not have been well if it wasn't for Zikey. Of course he has his weaknesses, and pretty girls is one of them!
Aleriosu-- Aleriosu was Duchess' father. He is a wild Arcanine that pops up at the end of the first story. He reunites with Duchess and is very well caught by a band of thieves that are after Arcanine.
Aeroi-- Aeroi is Duchess' mother. When she evolved in an Arcanine she was allowed to roam the woods for a while. Thus, finding Aleriosu, begins to stay out in the woods for days at a time. Of course, she had pups and of course, her heart was broken because they had to give them away.
