Houndoom Information
Here is some information about my favorite Pokemon: Houndoom!
Well, come back again sometime! We get more info all the time!
Name: Houndoom Height: Males: 4-6 feet tall females: 4-5 1/2 feet tall Weight: Males: 100-300 pounds females: 100-250 pounds Type: Dark Type
What to look for: Males w/ long silvery horns curved back and silvery cuffs. Orange or peachish snout. Long pointed tail. Females w/ medium silvery horns curved back and silvery cuffs. Peachish or red shouts and long pointed tail.
Description: Long orange, red, or peachy snout, a long, black, pointed tail, curved horns on the head, the longer the more powerful, powerful chest for normal breathing when running or sprinting, powerful hips for quickness and jumping and kicking, silvery cuffs, strong legs for neverending sprints which are good when chasing prey, sharp eyes that can spot prey a mile away, sesitive inner ears that can hear a crunch of a leaf a mile away, sharp claws for attacks, long sharp teeth about 1 to 2 inches long, for attacking prey, thick, powerful neck.
Breeding: A male and female Houndoom mate for 1 1/2 months to 3 months. A female Houndoom gives birth to 3-8 pups for one liter. The pups are born live with no fur, no horns, and no teeth. They grow fur from 3 days to 2 weeks. After growing fur they then grow horns and teeth. By this age in time the average size would be 2 feet tall and 50 pounds. When they are 6 months old they go their seperate ways. After breeding once a female Houndoom will wait 1 to 2 more years till she does it again. After mating season the male Houndoom still watches over the female for one month and then leaves alone once more. The mating season starts in March and ends in May. This ensures the pups life by starting in spring, not winter. If for any reason a single pup is a runt or is deformed by some way, the male Houndoom takes it away and kills it. The males never kill the offspring in front of the female or the female would attack.
Socialization: Houndoom travel in packs with one alpha male and alpha female. The alpha dogs get first picks at everything. If a Houndoom from the pack goes against the alpha's will he is attacked, exiled, or even worse, killed. Alphas were respected in their pack and when the alpha dies the strongest and most respected (other than the alphas) was chosen to take the place. After someone in the packs dies, the alphas stop traveling for one day and they have a special Houndoom ceremony. The tradition is ancient and humans don't know much about it yet.
Evolution: Houndoom evolve from Houndour. Houndour are smaller than Houndoom and aren't yet organized and planned out. Although Houdoom evolve from Houndour, if there is nothhing else o eat the only choice would be to eat their own kind, Houndour. Yes, this is a very sad fate, but it must be done. The Houndour that are eaten are runts, but still couldv'e had a chance at life.
Location & Food: Houndoom can live mostly anywhere including forests, deserts, praries, and shorelines. Although it is rare to find Houndoom by the shoreline it is possible. They will scavange for beached fish and carcases and sometimes wander into the ocean itself to eat fresh food. They love to eat any meat. Whether it is raw and cooked up on a gold platter, Houndoom love meat.
Predators and Prey: Although Houndoom are around the top of the food chain, they have predators such as Arcanine, Nidoking, Pidgeot, and a variety of other large Pokemon. For its food, however, Houndoom take no mercy. They will eat anything of meat. Even if it is a Houndour they will eat it. The Houndoom's menu consists of many Pokemon including: Ratata Raticate Growlithe Magikarp Goldeen Seaking Ponyta Rapidash Nidoran Nidorina Nidorino Pidgey Pidgeotto Pikachu Raichu Clefairy Clefable Bulasaur Ivysaur Squitle Wartortle Charmander Charmeleon Caterpie Weedle Metapod (a bit crunchy, though) Kakuna (a bit crunchy, though) and many, many other Pokemon. Houndoom will scavange or attack to get food.
Q and A: These are Q and A about Houndoom. Since I own a Houndoom I can clue you in on everything and give you a true story bout me and my Houndoom. Q: Why do Houndoom have a bad reputation? A: Because people think since they look mean, have long claws, long, sharp teeth, are a Dark Type, and prey upon smaller Pokemon, they must be mean. This isn't the case at all. Bring 'em up right and everything will work out. When I caught my Houndour at level 7 it was a fiesty little thing. It took a while for it to trust me. But then, with a bit of traing he became very sweet. (On the main page, click the fan art gallery and on Houndoom. That was originally my Houndoom but I decided to use it for the story. As you see, my Houndoom is very well-tempered.) Q: Why are Houndoom aggresive? A: They aren't! Read the above answer. Bring 'em up right. They aren't like a monster waiting to attack! They are very nice creatures once you know them. Q: I have a Houndoom, but he won't be respective. What shoul I do? A: Are you being respectful for him? Maybe try being nice to him and get a nice bond between you guys. Owning a Houndoom is a great responsibility and it takes a lot of time and love to correct a wayward Houndoom. Q: If a Houndoom attacks, will it become bloodthirsty? A: NO! Houndoom love meat, but they don't go out of control at all. They are very loyal Pokemon. They also are full of surprises. Treat them like a family member and they will never bite you. It is a proven fact! Q: When a Houndoom attacks, does it always kill the prey? A: Well, most of the time yes. Sometimes no. If the prey is too big or the Houndoom doesn't get a bite on it then the answer is no.
