The Soweto Foundation
The Leading Light of Development
With the formation of the Soweto Foundation, the Foundation made a conscious decision not to take money from government, in order to remain independant. Therefore the Foundation relies on corporate sponsorship & donations.
The Foundation pays tribute to the companies and organisations that have generously contributed towards making the Soweto Centre a reality. Their financial foresight has enabled the Foundation to carry on with the work to create a facility totally unique in South Africa which will redress the imbalances caused by apartheid and create a solid infrastructure to support thousands of new jobs which will have a compound economic benefit to the Gauteng region calculated to over one billion Rands.
The importance of these companies’ involvement is immeasurable for if it was not for their generosity and interest in this Soweto Centre, the Foundation would never have been able to carry out its mandate. On behalf on the Foundation and the millions of people in and around Soweto who will benefit economically, morally and socially from the existence of the Soweto Centre, we offer these companies our most heartfelt gratitude and thanks.
