Soweto Homeless Housings Association

The Soweto Homeless Housing Association was formed by the Joint Housing
Clubs around the region in 1993. It was launched in May 1994 with three
aims in mind, namely;
- Assisting newly elected government of national unity in it's objective
to provide millions of homeless people with low-cost houses.
- Creating jobs for its beneficiaries in the process of building houses.
- In the same spirit the association is committed to promoting the spirit
of Masakhane(together we build) by committing itself to encouraging its
beneficiaries to pay for all services which the local government is going
to provide in future.

Twilight Children
|
Twilight Children was registered in September 1993 with the Department
of National Health and Population Development.
It's objective is :
- To provide support, in the widest sense, to children who are livingon
the streets and public places without adequate or apparent adult or family
support. They do not restrict their operation to a particular sex, race
or age group or to a particular area, but acknowledge that they deal almost
entirely with the black boys aged between 10 and 18 years who have been
found in urban and inner city areas and that this group will continue to
be their major focus of attention.

Eldoserf (Eldorado Park Educational and Recreational Foundation)

The Foundation was established in 1987. The aim is to redress the imbalances
and educational inequalities among historically disadvantaged groups.
Their objectives are :
- To faciltate effective co-operation and communication between the pupils,
parents, schools and other sectors of the Eldorado Park communities.
- To raise, manage, invest and apply for funds in ther interest for the
furtherance of the foundation
- To effectively identify and solve problem areas in culture and their
disciplines affecting the global development of target groups.
