Yugoslavia, located on the east shore of the Adriatic Sea, was proclaimed in 1918 after the union of Serbia, Montenegro, and the South Slav territories of Austria-Hungary. The official name was changed from the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovens to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929. Occupied by Germany during WWII, and became the People's Republic in 1946. The Federal Republic was established in 1992 cosisted of the the former Republics of Serbia and Montenegro.
