Confederate States of America consisted of 11 Southern states (South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee) which seceded from the United States in 1861. They were readmitted to the Union after the Civil War in 1865.
