Perfect

I want to be as beautiful as you are
I wish I could get inside you
and see just what it is that makes you
so pure, so unique, so godlike.
I've got to find you what made you this way
cause I can't be like you until I do.
And I think it's only then that you'll
see how I'd like to die when you turn
 your face from me.

I wish my heart was crystal-clear like yours.
But it's not because I hate her for meaning more
to you than I ever will (and I've tried so hard
  to be what you want).
I wish my eyes had the same sweet light yours have.
Maybe then you'd look into them and
realize the hunger I have just to hear you say my name.
But they don't because you are my guide and my
angel and my light and now you're gone and
I'm lost and drowning in this love that you'll never
share and no one even knows I'm missing.
If only I was perfect like you,
for you...maybe things would be okay.....
