How many people do you know that seem to just run around helter skelter all over the place? I have seen several. I try to keep my plate fairly clean because it reduces internal stress a lot. :-)
I started my page to let people know that just because they may have a disability it does not mean that it is the end of the world. My cause has grown to include persons who are discriminated against, regardless of the reason.
I feel discrimmination will not end until people realize it is overt as well as covert and committed by persons of all cultures and races. Ethnocentrism, which means that you feel that your way is the only way, is cool. After all, it is alright to have pride in your culture, just don't degrade someone else's, K? :-)
I feel the family is the most important influence on children. This is not a political statement because I am not politically oriented. It is simply that I know what my childhood and family did both for and to me. Please take time out today and tell your child/children and family members you love them and need them. :-)

The Society of the Silver Rose is for persons who have been hurt on the web. The web is often the only means of communication for many people who face intense issues. The web's annonymity permits safety that does not exist in other avenues. The ability to turn to friends on the net who know and understand what is happening with you has been a major resource for many people, including myself. Without its safety our "lifeline" is terminated. The society protects that connection to reality.

Disabilities are hard on whoever is disabled. Imagine if you were a child and could not play, run, see, explore, draw, color, climb, play ball and all the other things that adults call play but are really a child's work.
