Personality Disorder Links

Many people, in and out of, the mental health profession have extensively debated the existance of MPD/DID. I have done a lot of reading and studying this disorder myself. I believe it exists but not the way television portrays.

Dissociation exists along a continuum and everyone dissociates to some degree. This is when you "zone out" while watching television or get lost in music while driving. MPD/DID results from extreme trauma related circumstances that the host must compensate for in order to survive.

I hope these links will help you understand this phenomena. With increased public understanding and awareness multiples will face less discrimination, self-doubt, self-incrimination, and fear from family, friends, and co-workers.
