She sits alone in the darkness
      Surrounded by broken glass
      Dreams of her own mortality
Trying to retreat into the past
      Rainbows of hope all around
And yet she just can't see
The dark storm clouds engulf her
That girl, I know she's me
      She's convinced that she's worthless
Wishing there were someone to love
      Told that she means nothing
Not even in the heavens above
The shards of glass dance in her eyes
As she remembers her unshed tears
Her eyes become misty and clouded
As she feels her forgotten fears
      Changing for everyone else
They are too scared to face her
      Raging and rushing emotions
Her life rushes past in a blur
Someone walks by and calls her name
But she has sunk to low to hear
Another time she would have noticed
      Whenever he was near
But it's too late to do that now
He doesn't realize he's killed her soul
Doesn't realize her unshed tears were meant
For him… now grief takes its toll
      Upon the innocent ones
Who just can't see the light
For those who are wasting away
Faster and faster, until we die…
