Murmuring softly to one not there,
Seeking the forbidden solace.
What a tragic vocation for one so fair.
Blind to kindness, she demands the hate,
The only feeling she has known for so long
They have tormented her soul,
Accusing her of wrong.
He hastened her demise.
She claims not to feel the pain,
Yet society pushes it closer.
Temptation burns like acid rain.
To call him up and cry would be paradise.
The flickering sun's rays rise the next morn'
He knocked at the door, might he come in?
The look she gave was so forlorn.
He backed away, far from her anguish.
Heartbroken child, you waited forever,
For your one true love, now he has left.
Will he come back? No child, he will never.
Sink back inside your self and wither…
