This is the first time I've ever read something by Barbara Bretton and I'll gladly say I will be watching for her name again in the future. As far as category romances go, sometimes you like then and sometimes you don't and for me, I can usually tell within the first few pages. This story had me hooked by the 3rd sentence.

"He was tall.
He was dark.
And he was naked."

If that isn't enough to grab your attention, then I don't know what would be.

Samatha Wilde needs some help. Her family's business is in trouble and Duncan Stewart is just the man to save them. But, she doesn't realize who he is until she's already slept with him! Embarrassed and humiliated, she runs away, never intending to see him again.

Duncan and his first wife are divorced. Since the divorce, he has turned into a recluse. It takes Samantha to pull him out of his hole. And now that she's gone, he just can't stand the thought of not having her in his life.

So, three months and three minutes later she takes a glance at the home pregnancy test and realizes the extent of the mess she's gotten herself into.

I really liked the writing style of Ms. Bretton. Add Duncan's accent and I swooned right along with Samantha. Who wouldn't when someone called them "Lass."
