Time Travel

Absolutely charming and most assuredly delightful is the story of Hillary Brown and Zach Ryan in "Almost An Angel." If you like romance mixed with a little time travel put this novel in your list to buy. It is definitely a keeper!

Hillary Brown is, well, almost an angel. In 1886 she murders someone in self-defense. In these times though, all that is considered is that she's a woman and has murdered a man -- doesn't matter why.

Sarah, the angel assigned to her case, has passed on to Hillary that she will have another chance to change what has happened. She has to go back to her town as a ghost to help someone, "a liberator, a deserving person to serve." She must alter their life in a positive manner, and with love. At the time she does this, she will be given another chance to change the circumstances surrounding her death.

Zach Ryan, drops everything and uses every last dollar to buy the old ghost town Columbine in Colorado. Not realizing it will be desolate, he is quite shocked when a huge bear greets him upon his arrival. With the town comes Hillary, but to Zach, she's just another pretty face. And what is she doing living there all alone without food and drink? Even more, he can't quite believe his eyes when the beautiful woman in the red dress, one like Kitty from Gunsmoke would have worn, disappears before his eyes.

As everything begins to unfold, Hillary confesses her reason for being there and frankly Zach thinks she crazy. But, the tables are turned when Hillary completes her end of the bargain with Sarah, and both are thrust back to 1886 to try to save Hillary's life. A miscalculation takes place and Hillary doesn't remember anything of her time with Zach over a hundred years after her death. As she had tried to convince him of all that happened in her life, now he in-turn must convince her of everything. It's Hillary's turn to think Zach is the crazy one. Zach has to get to know Hillary all over again.

Go along for the ride from current times to 1886 as Zach does everything he can to save Hillary's life.

The most exhilarating time travel I've ever read. Captivating and wildly romantic -- caring and positively loveable characters.

Winnie Sinclair finds herself in bed with her ex-husband's divorce attorney, Paul Weathers. Both just happen to end up on his houseboat on the same night. Winnie can't quite figure out just what had come over her. On the other-hand, Paul has just experienced the best night of his life. Who would have expected such passion to exist in Winnie?

Dawn breaks upon them and one at a time they are swept by way of whirlpool back to 1896. Paul comes upon his great-great-grandfather who has been murdered, and is in ghost form. From here on out all becomes completely outrageous and assuredly fun.

Paul's great-great-grandfather's ghost, Sam, needs Paul's body to capture his murderer. So, Sam walks into Paul and takes over his body, literally.

When Paul/Sam finally meet up with Winnie she doesn't know what to think of him/them. She believes she has gone insane.

Definitely a page turner which I read in only one afternoon.

"Think of it this way: If Dirty Harry met Scarlet O'Hara . . . "

That is the perfect way to describe this sensational story of two people destined to be together.

Mike Faricy is beyond devastation when his partner, and brother-in-law, Barney, is killed on a stake-out gone bad. Declaring to no-one in particular his desire to turn back time to save Barney's life, Mike finds himself thrust back to 1865. Just who did he make this deal with anyway?

Objective: To kill the ancestors of Barney's murderer, which will then wipe the murderer from existance.

Abigail Kingsley, owner of her plantation, Elysium, mother to Wade, and friend to Rosalie is trying to survive some desperate times.

Finding a strangely clothed mail in her home, Abigail isn't sure what to make of the odd pants and shoes the handsome man is wearing. He seems so odd, but she is attracted to him none-the-less.

Mike and Abigail need each other in ways that neither understand nor are prepared to admit. Only time together can answer the many unasked and unanswered questions hovering heavily around them.

Deb Stover is an extraordinary writer, outlining a tale of romance and love with a large handful of mystery and intrigue. Her flair with words makes "Some Like It Hotter" a story you just shouldn't miss.
