This was definitely a true-to-life story about real problems that need solutions, or
at least a learned way to survive them. Judith Arnold brought a very common
disease to the surface and expressed very vividly the emotions one goes through
with this disease.
Beth Pendleton is a survivor. She has moved to Devon so that she can stop to
smell the roses. Part of her new life is Chuck, the puppy she gets from the
animal shelter. She has always wanted a dog, so now is as good a time as any.
Ryan Walker, owner of Walker Construction, is intrigued by Beth. He notices
her reserved manner right off the back and has to know more about her.
Their relationship is a struggle as Beth has to learn to live again, Ryan has to
learn to see beyond her disease to the heart of the woman beneath.
