Harlequin Temptation #708

A thrilling novel full of intrigue and romance from the get-go. Just enough passion (psst- sex) without overpowering the reader. Jamie Denton wrote a sensational story when she put pen to paper and came up with "Flirting With Danger."

Bailey Grayson is looking for her missing sister who ran away from home. Bailey has guilty feelings for not being there when her sister needed her. She sets out on the streets of Los Angeles to find her sister. Dressed as, what would one call it.... a lady of the night. Bailey makes every attempt to get into contact with the people her sister may have gotten mixed up with. But isn't having a whole lot of luck. Instead she bumps into one grumpy and definitely ornery detective.

Mason O'Neill is the detective. He is on a case looking for a highly disreputable "pimp" Devlin Shore. Shore has quite a past including pimping and being a cop-killer. It is also believed that he is involved with more than just pimping, but the Los Angeles police department hasn't gotten enough evidence against him to convict him.

What it comes down to is this:

Bailey wants to find her sister and has reason to believe that Devlin Shore is involved with her disappearance. After the private investigator she hired ends up missing as well, Bailey gets pretty worried. Mason and his partner Blake Hammond need Bailey in order to nab Devlin Shore. Mason is against it for very personal reasons from his past and Blake is all for it. Mason does what he can to scare her away, but, of course, Bailey agrees to do anything in order to save her sister's life. Dangerous or not, she wants her sister back, safely.

So, from there the story starts to roll. Mason and Bailey are thrown together in one of the departments' "safe houses." Mason works with her day in and day out trying to prepare her for whatever may happen when they try to catch Shore. Their attraction for each other is quite powerful and neither really knows what to make of it at first.

Prepare yourself for a wild ride. I couldn't put the book down once I got started. I had to know what came next and just how things were going to work out. I was extremely lucky when the receptionist had to leave today and I filled in -- because I got to read it to the end! Ms. Denton has the unique talent needed to interest the reader from page one to the end. I will definitely keep my eyes out for more of her books!
