Tara Blayne and her friend Denise were invited to a Halloween Party. They didn't realize that they took a wrong turn and ended up at the wrong Halloween Party. They figured since they were there, they might as well at least enjoy the food but Tara said if anyone acted the least bit strange, she was out of there. The house was very large and looked like a miniature castle. It even had a tower room.
They went into the house and were enjoying the party when a tall, dark, and mysterious stranger glided down the winding staircase. He seemed to have eyes only for Tara, and what mysterious silvery eyes they were. He told her he was called The Magician.
They danced and enjoyed themselves the rest of the evening and then he led her up the stairs to the tower room where they enjoyed themselves even more. Tara had never acted or felt like this before. She didn't go in for one night stands but tonight it felt like she was enchanted.
Seven years later Chance Powers was watching the local news on television at
home after a particularly trying day at work. Suddenly he recognized a woman.
It was the lady that he had not been able to stop thinking about for seven years
since the night of that Halloween Party. She was at a school and reporters were
flocked all around her and a little boy. Chance was disappointed to see that she
was married and had a child. Then the words filtered into his brain as to what
the newscast was about and the little boy turned around. He had silvery eyes just
like Chance. Chance realized at that moment that this boy was his son. The
reporters were talking about the fact that the boy had caused a fork to turn in
midair and hit another little boy who had initially thrown the fork.
Chance realized that he had to somehow insinuate himself back into Tara's life and get to know his son. He needed to see how much power his son had inherited from him. He called and offered Tara a chance of a lifetime job but told her that one condition was that she had to come and live at his home. She told him that she had a son and he said that was no problem. He liked children and the boy could come also.
This is only the beginning of this incredible book. Jacqueline Diamond tells an
interesting and awesome story of magic and manipulation. I truly enjoyed
reading this book.
