Max Bannister is one of the richest and most important men in San Francisco. He is going to show the family jewelry at a great exhibition to catch "Quinn" a famous thief.

Dinah Layton is landing in his arms at one of her nightly excursions through the museum. She is an employee of the museum and now she needs a good excuse why she still is there. Max should not know something from her fears and her secret. However, he is a sensitive man and he will not give up till he finds out what is wrong with Dinah.

Dinah needs Max to overcome her past but it is a hard and very tiring way which she has to go. Will she has the power to live through that?

Who is the young woman who has come back to the mansion of the Dalton family? Is she really the missing Amanda or is she only a fake? All the family members are suspicious with one exception - Jesse Dalton -- the patriarch of the family, believes that this woman is his missing granddaughter.

In the solution of this puzzle is also Walker McLellan, the Dalton family lawyer. He fell in love with the mysterious Amanda. She can't remember that her mother left the Southern mansion, Glory, together with her twenty years earlier. She wants to find out that happened on that special stormy night.

Jesse's daughter, Kate, the housekeeper Maggy, and his grandchildren Reece and Sully are also not happy to have Amanda back because Jesse wants to change his will. Amanda would become the heiress of his multi-million dollar estate. So it isn't a surprise that suddenly strange and frightening things begin to happen to Amanda.

Amanda has to fight against jealousies because nobody believes in her selfless motives. She can't tell Walker the truth because somebody wants to kill her and she doesn't know who that someone is.

To find an answer to the question of why her mother left Glory with her twenty years earlier exposes a trail of secrets. Will Walker trust Amanda and has their love changed? At the end Amanda and Walker have to fight for her life and their love.
