A touch of intrigue will be found when reading "The Silent Groom" by Kelsey
Roberts. Mystery and intrigue is always enjoyable when added to a romance.
Joanna Boudreaux is a lawyer. Not to mention a stick in the mud. Having
endured a sexual harassment case, she doesn't put her emotions and feelings out
for everyone to see. Her current case is defending Rose Porter, owner of The
Rose Tatoo saloon.
Gabriel Langston, private detective, is assisting with the case against Rose. She
is charged with killing her ex-husband. Things do not look to good for her and
Joanna can't help but think that Rose is guilty. It takes all of Gabriel's power to
influence her in the opposite direction.
Their close working relationship leads Joanna and Gabriel into romantic waters.
Can Gabriel get Joanna to loosen up and enjoy what they can undoubtedly have
together? As well as convince her that Rose is innocent? Read and find out.
I enjoyed this story very much. I had a bit of trouble at the beginning getting
interested, but before long I couldn't put the book down. It was a
stay-up-late-and-read-kind-of-night!!

Kelsey Roberts expertly portrays an exciting adventure consisting of romance wrapped up in time travel and touching on a bit of mystery with her story "The Tall, Dark Alibi."
Kendall Butler, a doctor who performs autopsy's, finds herself transported back to 1861 after placing an antiqued locket and chain around her neck. She just had to wish for the handsome man whose picture was inside the locket.
Jonas Revell comes across this mysterious woman hiding in a field wearing the strangest set of clothes he's ever seen. Jonas plans to take Kendall back to his home to try to figure out who she is and why she is there. Kendall makes several attempts to get away from him so he ties her up and takes her home. She is scared and confused about where she is and exactly how she got there.
All of Jonas's friends are people from Kendall's life in the 1990's, yet none of them know her as she knows them. With all her crazy talk about coming from the future, they all wonder if Kendall is just crazy.
Someone makes attempts on Jonas' life and it becomes an adventure trying to discover the culprit. Could it have anything to do with the fact that Jonas' first wife died on their wedding night and her family says he murdered her?
Kendall realizes she has found the love of her life, but how can she stay with Jonas when she has to return to her own time? She wants her independence and her career as a doctor. She just can't give that up.
Jonas decides that if she won't stay with him then he is prepared to go with her to her own time. But how to plan something when they don't know what to do and exactly what has to happen before the time travel will take place? Kendall has tried everything including reenacting the scene of her departure with the exact words and actions, but still nothing happened.
Her last hope is finding out who murdered his first wife and absolving Jonas from the accusations of murder. That just might do the trick.
A great story, wonderful characters and a super portrayal of love.
