After her fathers death, Lalange Ross doesn't know what to do anymore. Nobody wants her as a governess because she is to beautiful. One day she meets her great love again, Major Alex Haldane. Lalange thought he was death. Five years ago she was in love with him but the fuss made it impossibe for them to marry - Lalange was only the daughter of a businessman and Alex the son of an Earl.

Lalange is desperate. She has no money to buy food for her and her sister and also no money to pay the rent. That's why she is looking for a patron - a lover.

Alex rescues her from a terrible situation and ask her to become his mistress. She agrees because she still loves him. A mission in the name of the government destroys the agreement between both again.

Will Alex Lalange get rescued from a dangerous situation and is there a common future for both?

An interesting tale with unusual characters.
