Contemporary

I only can suggest everyone to follow Nora Roberts instructions in the beginning of the book. Well I don't have a fireside so I sat down in front of my heater (it isn't very warm here in Germany at the moment). I had no tea with Whiskey so I have t drink a glass of red wine. I have put up my feet and forget my worries and in my mind -- jumped into the story.

Brianna Concannon has a little boarding house with the name Blackthorn Cottage in Ireland. She loves her work. Her sister Maggie expects her first child in three months and lives happy together with her husband. Their mother Maeve has her own little house which Maggie bought for her. So Brianna enjoys her freedom because she has lived many years only to serve her mother.

Now she should get a guest who'll stay for a long time -- Grayson Thane a very successful American author who writes thrillers. He wants to write his new book there in Ireland. Mr. Thane arrives two days too early to Brianna's cottage and the scene when they meet for the first time could be from one of his books.

Soon Grayson has a fantastic idea for a new book. The rough countryside with the ancient ruins is exactly the background Grayson wants in the story. So he starts to write. But not only Ireland and it's inhabitants are fascinating for Grayson also Brianna is an attractive woman for him because she is full of contradictions.

Brianna doesn't want to have the feelings she has for Grayson because he is a man with no home and no family who travels around the world. The more Grayson writes on his book the more you see that his heroine has all the characteristics from Brianna and the hero is nearly like him.

When Brianna starts an affair with him she knows this is nothing for eternity. Grayson never talks about love and when his book is finished he will leave her. But this time Grayson doesn't like the end of the story. A hero who leaves all behind him - there must be something wrong with this. Will he have the courage to tell Brianna how much he loves her?

An absolute worthy sequel to "Born in Fire". Nora Roberts can't write bad books. I think everyone will agree with this -- those that have read a book by her. And at the end of the story we learn what the last book in this trilogy will be about. Brianna and Maggie have a half-sister in America. I can't wait to read this story also!

There could be no better start for Nora Robert's Ireland trilogy. A charming love story with remarkable characters at a divine beautiful scene.

Margaret Mary Concannon, called Maggie, is a glass designer. She loves the loneliness and her work. Her father made it possible for her to get an education in Venice and so he had open a door for her in a totally new world. One day gallery owner Rogan Sweeney sees one of her pieces of art work and he is fascinated. He wants to promote this great artist and make her famous.

Maggie doesn't want this kind of attention and also does not want to work with this arrogant business man from Dublin. But Rogan gives her some good arguments. She would have enough money to buy her mother her own house. Maggie has wanted to do this for a long time. So her mother has no chance anymore to harass her sister Brianna.

Rogan is not only interested in her work but also in Maggie herself. He can't tame this wild Irishwoman but maybe he can find a way into her heart. This is really hard work because Maggie doesn't want to marry. She saw that the marriage of her parents was the hell on earth and that's why she has closed her heart for deeper feelings.

Maggie's first great exhibition in Dublin is a complete success. Now nothing can stop her international promotion. But Maggie starts to ask herself how she could stay the same person after all that.

And Rogan has to recognize that he does not control their relationship, as does Maggie.

After that wonderful story I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy.
