There couldn't be a more exciting finish for the "Stars of Mithra" trilogy than this story.

This is the second book in the series by Nora Roberts. This story is about M. J. O'Leary, one of Bailey's best friends. M. J. owns a bar and is a fifth-degree black belt. This doesn't help her one bit when she is jumped by one Jack Dakota, a bounty hunter. He's been told she is a bail jumper who shot her accountant lover.

Little does M. J. and Jack know they have both been set up by someone unknown who wants to possess The Stars of Mithra. M. J. doesn't trust Jack and Jack doesn't trust M. J. but they are stuck with each other until things are figured out.

Before the end of the book, they are involved in several car chases and lots of dangerous adventures, but finally M. J. is reunited with Bailey and the pieces of the puzzle start fitting together.
