Diantha has never believed in love. She laughs at every man who has ever said he loved her. Understanding and respect are the foundations for a good marriage in her opinion. That's why she accepts the proposal from Rex, Earl of Chartrigde. Rex is looking for a rich woman and when Diantha marries him she becomes a Countess.

Both think they did the right thing. They have a good marriage and in the night, in the bedroom, it is also better than they ever thought it could be.

Diantha starts wondering why she helps her cousin Elenor to marry her love and also her cousin Berti. A woman who doesn't believe in love should not do that.

One day, when Diantha and her husband are in Brussels, she finds out that she is also in love - with her husband. Is it to late for her marriage now because her husband often meets an old girl friend? Or does she still have a chance?
