Tarnished Hearts Historical
In the future Trevor Shelby will be the owner of a great plantation.
This is not what he wants to do. His dream to be a doctor was destroyed by
his father very early in his life. That's why Trevor has stayed away
for years from his home.
At this time he is at the plantation of his friend Robert. Here he
meets Leah, the daughter of the guard. Leah wants to be a teacher
but her parents won't allow her to do that. In their eyes, only a
marriage is important in this time. Leah is a dreamer and thats what Trevor
likes so much about her when he first meets her. It doesn't disturb
them that they come from different social stratums.
Trevor discovers that he has found his great love. But, too many
obligations from the past prevent him from telling Leah of his love.
When Trevor has to go back home to help his sister, Leahs life
becomes a nightmare. Her father finds out that she had an affair with
a man and now he says she should marry.
All are saying Trevor will not come back to Leah. And it looks like
this is the truth because she doesn't know where he is and if he
will even come back. And when Leah finds out that she is pregnant there
is only one way out from this situation for her.
A really heartrending love story which will make you sentimental.
There are a lot of great misfortunes which the characters have to overcome
before they find a common fortune.

SIGH - what a book!!! It tells the love story between a "why aren't you real" hero and a crafty heroine.
In Loving, Texas the saloon is burned down. What should Kellian York (the owner) do with his "doves"? Well, he takes revenge. He blackmails Annie Charlotte Mulldon to take him and his women as guests in her boarding house because he thinks it is Annie's quilt that somebody lit in his saloon.
Annie, 28 years old, believes that woman should have more rights. She condemns drinking and game of chance as much as the woman who work on the second floor of the saloon. But she never would put somebody up to light a saloon and burn it down. Now with her unusual guests she has the change to think over her opinions.
Kellian is worth sinning for. He is sexy and challenges Annie every minute. Since he has find out that Annie is more then a "dried-up" old maid, he tries to seduce her. And it looks like he may be successful. The sparks fly between both.
Together with the characters from Aunt Hortense, Annie's hard of hearing aunt, Drewberry the disfigured cat, Li the "wise" Chinese, and all the other great characters, arise a fantastic story full of joy, joke and humor.
A wonderful love story which conjures up a smile on your face all during and
when you finished the book.
