Historical
I can describe this book with two words: boring and useless.
Beau St. Jules, Earl of Rochester, thinks only about his amusement.
Besides that he is a spy for the English monarchy. One day he starts off
with his yacht at such an order and he has a stow-away on board. Serena
gave up her governess job and wants to travel to Florence. Because her
money and her baggage was stolen she hides on the yacht of St. Jules.
She wants to study art in Florence. She believes she can be a good artist.
Beau thinks his stowaway would be good for a chance so they become
lovers immediately. And they don't leave the bed again before they arrive
at the next port. They visit Lisbon and there Serena is nearly kidnapped
but there are no more interesting parts in the story.
For all who want to know the end: Of course the "lover of all woman"
recognize that Serena is the only woman he really loves.
While reading the book I always had the feeling that Susan Johnson
didn't know what to write. And I believe there is another book who
tells the story of St. Jules father but I haven't read this book yet.
All in all this story wasn't worth the money.
Historical
Trey Braddock-Black lives only for his pleasure. Because he is the only
son from Blaze and Hazard Braddock-Black he has two Indians as bodyguards.
A lot of people are envious about Hazards wealth because he is an Indian
too.
Empress Jordan needs money to survive, together with her siblings,
in the wilderness of Montana so she sells herself in a brothel. Trey
bids the most money for her and so he gets her for three weeks. But in
the night he is shot down by a madman. He can survive with the help of
Empress.
Hazard and Blaze are full of gratitude and they want Empress to stay
in their house as long as she wants. When Empress hears how the society
of Helena talks about her she takes her gold and returns to her home in the
mountains. Trey won't let her go and so he follows her. There comes a bad
snow storm and for the next weeks they are cut off from the outside world.
They have a wonderful time. When Empress starts to get fever Trey is so
worried that he takes her in the valley in the deepest of winter to find
help. They meet Trey's cousins who look for him and he is able to bring
her to a doctor.
After Empress' recovery her brothers and sisters get ill and she has to
wait till she can return home again. Trey recognizes he can't live without
Empress anymore and makes a proposal to her. She agrees but Trey can't
keep his promise because an unscrupulous woman blackmails him. She claims
to be pregnant with his child. Trey has to marry her or his two cousins who
are Indians will die. But he looses Empress with that decision. She
returns to France to fight for the heir of her brother Guy.
When they arrive in Paris, Empress recognizes that she is pregnant. She
never will tell Trey that she gets a baby from him. Will there be a common
future for both?
This book tells the story about Blaze and Hazards son Trey. It is a
sequel to "Blaze".
Jon Hazard Black is an Indian with extraordinary abilities. He
has studied in Harvard, he was in the war, and he has his own
imagination about how he can rescue his clan. He owns two gold
claims where he is working all day.
Blaze Braddock is a rich and beautiful young woman who accompanies
her father on a trip through Montana. When her father's company
wants to buy the claims from Hazard she wants to make the deal
with him. She knows this fascinating man from a ball in Virginia.
Blaze is sure that he will talk with her. But Hazard isn't
interested in talking when Blaze comes to his cottage.
It doesn't take long for Blaze to realize she can no longer
withstand the extreme charm of this man. Also when Hazard takes
her as a hostage she does not want
to flee from him. The unscrupulous Yancy Strahan, the business
partner of her father, does everything to gets is hands on the
claims from Hazard. So he lets Blaze father get killed.
But he hasn't thought about the love between Hazard and his
beautiful red-haired wife. Only with a deception he can separate
both. However, fate still has a lot of adventures more for all.
An entertaining story with a lot of eroticism like in every other
Susan Johnson book.
Rated 3.0 Countess Angela de Grae is 35 years old, mother of two children, and married
with a brutal man. She controls him while she always gives him money. She is
a woman who was beautiful enough to attract the Prince of Wales as a lover.
Her wealth and the life in the British high society is boring to her. On her estate
she opens a school for her tenants. She fights for rights for them.
Kit Braddock is a rich and very good looking American playboy who comes to
England to find a wife. He has his own harem on his ship and the first love
scene of the book starts on page one.
Kit and Angela start a hot affair. After a while, Kit realizes that he really loves
Angela and wants to marry her but she doesn't want a divorce. She is afraid of
losing her children.
So they fight and become reconciled and they have sex till the happy end of the
book.
It seems that both have an endless energy for sex. And this book has some of the
hottest love scenes I've ever read. Take away the sex and you have only a
tedious and predictable romance.
I only can say in my opinion that this book is more of an erotic tale than a
romance. There can't be a better title for this story than "Brazen."
Prince Bariatinsky is the youngest general in the Russian army. He is famous for
his victories and he has never been wounded. All the women love him. He set
free Lisaweta Felixowana, Earl Lazaroffs daughter, from the hands of the Turks.

First, Prince Stefan thought Lisaweta is unsightly and fat. After a bath, he sees
that Lisa is an upset woman. He is enthusiastic for her. They become lovers
immediately.
Stefan abducts her and takes her to his house in the mountains. There is only
one problem - Stefan has a fiance. He will never marry for love. After twenty
days, Lisaweta returns to St. Petersburg and Stefan returns to the battlefield.
Both try to forget each other, but they can't. So, Stefan returns to St. Petersburg
and causes a scandal when he marries Lisaweta instead if his fiancée Nadeschda.
The plot is just not interesting enough. The only fascinating part was the love
scenes. And you will find enough of those in this book. The characters don't do
anything else.
