Tracy Fobes
"Touch Not The Cat" is a joyous read. Magical and mystical qualities pulling together a heartwarming story of two people destined to be together.
A page turner to the end! Ms. Fobes writes in a class all by herself. I do not hesitate to say that "Touch Not The Cat" is one of the best stories I've read this year.
Nicholas, the twelfth Duke of Efington is considered to be quite a catch amongst the ladies. It has been said he will marry Clarissa Stonehaven, even though they aren't really yet betrothed.
Catherine MacClelland is twenty-eight and unmarried. Many think of her as a spinster and a shrew. When in fact, she is unable to trust any man enough to marry them, for she has a curse on her which she can trust to no one.
Nicholas and Catherine's first meeting is not one of the best, all things considered. Nicholas makes some inappropriate remarks and Catherine does her best to put him in his place. End of story? No!
Nicholas assists Catherine's father, Iain MacClelland, with the delivery of a foul and ends up impressing the older man very much. As events turn, Iain becomes ill and on his death bed makes preparations by blackmailing Nicholas into marrying his daughter.
Both Catherine and Nicholas do all that they can to avoid the marriage, but in the end they are wed.
Catherine does all she can to hide the curse from Nicholas, but within time he starts to discover the secrets that lay beneath his beautiful wife's soul.
A superb story! So well written that I can't even come up with the words to describe it. Watch for it. Even the cover is beautiful...
