Con Randolph, an FBI agent, just found out he's the father of a six month old baby boy. He can't remember know how it happened. Then he remembers one night that he'd gotten knee-walking drunk to forget about a deal gone sour, where an innocent woman was killed. A blonde helped him back to his hotel room but he couldn't remember anything after that. When he woke up the next day, the woman and all of his money were gone.

The social worker who shows up at Con's door wants him to sign some adoption papers so they can place the baby in a home. Con tells her no, if the child is his he wants to keep the boy to give him a home and some stability. His biological parents had given him up when he was little and all he remembers are a series of foster homes. That is no way for a child to grow up.

Everyone frowns on this because he's single and he's in a high risk job. His best friend, Robyn Blair, or Robbie as she was called, has secretly loved Con all of her life. When she found out about the baby, she tells Con she has the perfect solution. They will just get married and then he can have his son. Con doesn't want to go along with it at first but Robbie can be very convincing and persuades him that it is the right thing. They will just have a marriage of convenience for as long as it takes until he gets his son.

Everything looks like it will work out great until Con kisses Robbie. The sparks fly but Con doesn't think he has a heart or can love anyone because of how he grew up. It's up to Robbie to show him differently.

This is a story about two people who are right for each other but don't know it. Tara Taylor Quinn brings them together in a story you will be sure to enjoy.
