Rosie's Ramblings

April 4, 2001

Hello Out There,

I’ve been trying to find time to do this update for days. Sometimes obligations get in the way of fun. I guess it’s just as well, since I don’t have a lot of news anyway. Some good things did happen during the last month. Out of the blue, one of my visitors offered to share one of her duplicate needle books. She sent me a lovely, unusual version of Finepoint , which I am sharing with you. I was tickled pink. In turn, I sent her a duplicate of “Over the Top”. We discovered that we have “Arkansas” in common too, and the world got a little smaller. I am so grateful for her generosity.

For those of you who love to watch antique shows on TV, a new program will soon be airing on A & E. It is called “The Incurable Collector” and is hosted by John Larroquette. In my humble opinion, most of the stuff on TV is garbage, so I’m thrilled to have another program to watch.

One new item this month is the fabulous Crescent . Although I didn’t include it in the picture, a factory is shown on the back. This item was made in Germany. The other two are advertising books. As time goes on, I find these books more and more appealing. Both advertise old-fashioned cooking stoves. The first is a die-cut that promotes the Columbian Line , made by the Keeley Stove Company of Pennsylvania. The other depicts the Buckwalter Simplex Electric Range (which comes in gray or white porcelain enamel). I would be proud to have either in my kitchen, but I suppose they probably weren’t as efficient as my trusty Sears.

Yard sales are beginning to spring up in my neck of the woods. I also have a couple of flea market/antique shows to look forward to later this month. I do hope a treasure is awaiting my arrival. I want to thank those of you who visited during this past month and took the time to write me. I received several nice e-mails – they always seem to arrive when I need a boost.

Love,

Rosie
