Rosie's Ramblings
August 5, 1999
Hello Out There,
Happy Birthday Rosie's Museum. It was a year ago this month that I first built Rosie's. I have had over 2100 visitors since that time. It has been a stuggle to get noticed. I have applied and re-applied to all the major search engines and have not been terribly successful. Other "collectibles" sites have been generous about linking with me. Be sure to check out my links some time. There is some good stuff out there.
I just acquired a copy of a book written by an Englishman who worked for 40 years as a needlemaker in Redditch. I am sure you have seen the word "Redditch" on some of your needle books and packets. It is an area of England renowned for needlemaking. I plan to share some information about it at a later date.
New items this month:
I have completely revamped the Army & Navy Needle Books page. During my time off this summer, I have learned to do a few more things using Paint Shop Pro. It is nice software, but in my opinion, not user friendly.
I have also added a Pop-Up Needle Book page. Go there to view my entire pop-up collection -- 2! Hopefully I will be adding to it. The Army & Navy and Pop-Up pages can be found in the Special Exhibits section.
Next week I am off for a brief trip to St. Louis. Hopefully there are some needle books waiting for me.
Regards,
Rosie
