Rosie's Ramblings

January 2, 2000

Hello Out There,

I am hoping that everyone had a Merry Christmas. I had four presents this year...all were needle books. I just returned from visiting relatives in Arkansas. Of course, I had to look for needles. Unfortunately they are scarce there. I found only one...an advertisement for a laundry...shaped like, you guessed it, a laundry bag. Of course I saw plenty of "Sewing Susans". Some sellers are really proud of their "Susans". Sometimes the prices are astonishing. I found one mall in Little Rock that had a whole case of just sewing items (but only a few common needle books). I wanted everything else though. If only I were rich...

I have added a new page to my "Special Exhibits" this month. It features the "Zeppelin Needle Books". I spent a few hours researching zeppelins, and have included some of the information that I was able to find. Hopefully you will find it interesting. I have also added two books to my "Horseshoe" page. The "Smart" needle book is the only one in my entire collection made of textured paper. The horseshoes are some of my personal favorites.

I enjoyed hearing from a few fellow collectors during the last month. I actually ended up buying several needle books from one visitor and am in the midst of a deal with another. Please do not hesitate to write me. I love to talk about needle books and I answer all e-mails about them. My address is rosierider@yahoo.com.

Happy New Year!

Rosie
