Rosie's Ramblings

March 4, 2002

Hello Out There,

Good News! A picture of the Deluxe Needlebook (plus a plug about this website) will be appearing in the May issue of "Needle Pointers" magazine along with a small article about needle books. Hopefully this will bring in a few new visitors. Thank you Christine Prado for this opportunity. I hope that my regulars who are interested in needle pointing, will get a copy of this issue.

I have an eclectic bunch to show you this month. First up, I have added to my Space page. This one doesn’t really have a title other than Akra, but it does have interesting space scenes on both the front and back. This book was made in Czechoslovakia and has foil stuck needles and a threader.

I have done a little rearranging. I have added space for the “Broadway Lights” books on my Evolution of Needle Books page. Since I wanted to add a third book with this title, I decided to group them together. The new entry is the one in the middle. This needle book was Made in Germany.

The next addition is to my Zeppelin page. It is called Air Mail and is kin to the Air Fleet book. The primary difference is that Air Fleet has little zeppelins in the background and Air Mail only has little planes. There are also subtle differences in the zeppelins. They were both Made in Japan. Notice that the packets are virtually the same as Air Fleet’s, differing only in the title.

Finally, I have Easy Sewing with a wonderful Kangaroo Mother, her Joey, and some red and white polka-dot cloth. This sweet book was Made in Japan and has foil stuck needles. The back is identical to the front.

That’s it for this month. Spring will surely be arriving soon along with a new season of antique shows, flea markets, and yard sales. Boy am I ever ready!

Rosie

P.S.
To the young girl who wrote asking to use a few of my pictures for a school project…I tried to write you back, but my reply was undeliverable for some reason. I hope that you used the pictures anyway and got a good grade on your report.
