My Dad.

Dad and me at the wedding.

This is me and my dad on my wedding day,as he is about to walk me down the aisle. This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad and I. My dad was a very unique person,he was the youngest of seven children in his family. They moved around alot, always changeing schools etc.My mom told me he had a very hard life growing up. He was born on August 5th 1935.My mom and dad were married on December 22nd, 1957. He was drafted into the army in 1958 and was stationed in Elizabethtown Ky. for a few years. After the service they returned home with a new son(my oldest brother)John Jr. born Febuary 2nd, 1959.He worked construction for awhile, then learned brick masonry.Somewhere during this time my brother Dennis was born on August 10th, 1962.Then I was born on July 3rd, 1964.My mom told me one day that my dad swore to her that his kids weren't going to grow up the way he had to.My youngest brother Christopher was born on June 21st, 1972. So they finally setteled in Warren County Indiana. They spent over 30 wonderful years there together. My father had 3 sons and 1 daughter. He spent 22 years as a supervisor at a battery plant,he was let go from there due to the down sizing of the company. He worked odd jobs as he could find them after that. Then it happened,on Easter weekend 1993 we got the news.My dad, this strong very proud man was diagnosed with lung cancer. He fought for over 22 months, only to lose that fight on January 9th, 1995.I miss him greatly, my father never openly expressed his love and his feelings for us kids, but it was something we all knew anyway.I think I was always a daddys girl.I remember alot of very special times as a little girl that I spent with him.I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't think of him, even for just a small moment. My father was a very quiet, reserved, proud, strong, wonderful man in my life.People say I look just like him,and that makes me very proud.I will always be very proud to be his daughter.Something I will always remember about my dad's funeral,is my oldest brother John Jr. telling my mom not to get upset if it rains.Because it just means that the angels were just coming down to take daddy home. And wouldn't you know it,on the way to the cemetery it started to sprinkle. Then during the service it rained a very gentle rain all through the service. As soon as the service was over it stopped, just that quick. So I know now that my daddy is up in heaven with our Lord,he is protected by the Angels, and he is no longer in pain. But before he left us he gave his family and friends alot of wonderful memories and a wonderful legacy to pass on to his children and grandchildren.

Below is another favorite memory of me and my dad.
