and we're on a couch and we're watching every episode of dallas, falcon crest, hill street blues, v, monty python's flying circus, cagney and lacey, twin peaks and she laughs in all the right places and i never have to cover my eyes when i don't want to.

and i told her how cool i think lauryn hill is and a few hours later she calls me into the kitchen because she thinks it might be lauryn on the radio and she knows how i would love to hear it and it's actually shania twain but it really doesn't matter because she tried.

and yesterday my dad called and i answered in mom's room and i told him to go watch the batman movie that was about to start and i hung up and she said 'o there's a batman movie? you must be happy then' and i looked at her and she said 'i know how much you love that batman movie with the woman in leather' and it's at least 2 years since i mentioned it and she just remembered it anyways.
