the death of lovely-creature

saturday i woke up and i knew i really wanted a domain called lovely-creature, not because i am one but because the two words fit together so well and of course it's stolen from nick cave and his song and it's a murder ballad of course, but i really wanted it. so around noon i ignored that i didn't have the money for it and signed up for a simplenet account, like the one i had before you know where my pj harvey site was at, and i got to call it lovely-creature.simplenet.com and i created an opening page for it and everything.

and then i realised that DUH! how stupid am i? i could save that money for a _computer_ instead! so today i e-mailed simplenet and i hope i caught them in time and so that they cancelled the account and invoice because i'm already picturing me on the livingroom floor watching tv and typing up journal entries and e-mails and homework on a grey rickety old used computer. i'm just too impulsive sometimes.

click here to see what lovely-creature's opening page would have been.

lovely creature by nick cave.

There she stands, this lovely creature
There she stands, there she stands
With her hair full of ribbons
And green gloves on her hands

So I asked this lovely creature
Yes, I asked. Yes I asked
Would she walk with me a while
Through this night so fast

She took my hand, this lovely creature
"Yes", she said, "Yes", she said
"Yes, I'll walk with you a while"
It was a joyful man she led

Over hills, this lovely creature
Over mountains, over ranges
By great pyramids and sphinxs
We met drifters and strangers

Oh the sands, my lovely creature
And the mad, moaning winds
At night the deserts writhed
With diabolical things

Through the night, through the night
The wind lashed and it whipped me
When I got home, my lovely creature
She was no longer with me

Somewhere she lies, this lovely creature
Beneath the slow drifting sands
With her hair full of ribbons
And green gloves on her hands
