"um, thanks, dad?"
i'm sure you've all heard about the whole beautiful eggs thing by now (a guy is letting people bid on female model's eggs for fertilization. you know. coz some people want pretty kids, i guess, and have more money than brains to realise that they are not buying a clone, they're buying an egg.)

well, i read this article about it, and while i don't have much to say about the whole deal itself, i found this quote by the guy who runs the site pretty.. disturbing.

    "Harris, who has three children from four marriages, said its natural for parents to want attractive children. He said that each time his wife was pregnant he hoped for a cute baby. On the third try, he said, he got one.

    "My third child is beautiful," he said, adding that he didn't favor that child over the others."

no, i'm sure telling worldwide media that your two first kids are ugly, and your third child is beautiful isn't considered "favoring that child over the others." it's just amazingly insensitive, cruel, and.. well.. stupid.
