the story behind

q & a

Where did the name of the journal come from?

  • "In Further News" came out of the blue, possibly influenced by the News Updates from the show Saturday Night Live. And then it just stuck.

Why does the design change all the time?

  • I like making an entry fit the mood I'm in, or sometimes to go with the content. Also - I see so many nice pages and journals out there and often get real intimidated and tell myself what I have looks like shite. So I change it. Simple.

    Do you really tell everything?

  • No. I sometimes feel guilty for forgetting to mention things in an entry, but it really isn't a place where I just retell everything that happened that day. It's more a collection of scrap book pages and random snap-shots from my life. I also censor things that involve other people. Mostly because I don't want to hurt their feelings or because they asked me not to include it. Sometimes it's because it was something I felt more comfortable dealing with on my own.

    What about sex??

  • I don't censor sex from my journal. I simply refrain from sharing it because it's something I feel is between me and the other person involved only. I don't kiss and tell. Actually, some kisses I do tell, or at least hint at, but that's usually as far as I'll go.

How can I get mentioned in your diary?

  • You become a good friend of mine that I spend a lot of time with and give me lots of reasons to mention. Other than that - not very likely. I'm too self-obsessed.

How does the people you mention feel about it?

  • I haven't had anyone complain. I don't keep the journal secret so they're free to come read, should they choose to. Sometimes I ask their permission to retell something.

Well. I think that's all. If there's anything you feel I should mention, let me know. Thanks for reading!
