I am fortunate to reside in Real Life in one of the more beautiful parts of the planet. While it can also be a difficult to live here as a Trangender person, this place does have a firm grip upon my soul.
I am speaking of Canada's maritime provinces. They are New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. Four provinces perched on the shores of the North Atlantic. For the geophraphicaly challenged we are northeast of the state of Maine in the USA.
My current home within this locale is Halifax, Nova Scotia. I feel this city offers one of the best qualities of life available anywhere. Halifax is a unique mix of the old and the new. It is a historic seaport and the site of the largest man made (non nuclear)explosion ever felt on this planet. We have most of what is available in any large urban centre with few of the problems. As an added bonus, rural areas are but a hop, skip and jump from the downtown area.
The picture is of the Dartmouth side of Halifax harbour. If you have a large magnifying glass and squint REAL hard you might even be able to see my apartment...;)
Until recently this was a city in its own right but it along with a number of other municipalities was amalagimated into the Halifax regional Municipality or HRM for short. While we are now politically one city it will take some time for people to recognise the new reality. Until then I regard my home as Dartmouth, the city of lakes...;) Most cool eh!!!
